But it wasn't until I started knitting lace that I really fell in love with knitting. I don't remember what my first lace project was but it is so addictive that I have been knitting it ever since. My first knitting book was The Mermaid Shawl & other Beauties: Shawls, Cocoons and Wraps. It grew out of this blog actually when people wrote to me asking me to post the patterns for the projects I posted pictures of here. Then when ebook readers came along I published more patterns for ebook only. Maybe someday I'll combine them into a paperbook like The Mermaid Shawl. You can find the patterns on Amazon or at KnitYourTailOff.com. Some are also available through Ravelry.
I love knitting and it is the perfect accompaniment to writing. Sometimes I listen to audio books while i knit and sometimes I just think about the next writing project!

Beautiful stuff! I think it's interesting that shawls are coming back in style. I crocheted (hope that's not a swear word) one for my SIL last year. I let her pick any pattern, and the one she picked was crochet. I'm trying to visit all the A-Z Challenge Blogs this month.
I want to learn how to knit. It's one of those neat things you can do anywhere. When I was in college, several girls would bring knitting projects to do during class, because they could both listen and knit simultaneously. It made them look so cool!
I knit too! I love it - it's a great way to get something done while I watch TV, and I love having something to show for it when I'm done.
I am learning to crochet and finding it difficult. I always wanted to knit and crochet. One not yet down, one to go, I guess...
Great post!
