Moving right along with the Siren Shawls and Seaman Scarves project I put up a temporary web page with links to several free patterns for seaman scarves. I'm excited about this because the designs I am doing are quite unique and are turning out nicely. I got my order from Knit Picks yesterday and you can see in the photo below the two additional yarns I picked for the next shawls and scarves --- more Merino Style in Eggplant and some gorgeous Andean Treasure, 100% Baby Alpaca, in a Sky Blue Heather.
In order to give a better idea of the stitches in these designs I took some closeup pictures of two of the Siren Shawls. Both have cables (indicated by the white arrows) and lacy stitches combined:
The Fairy Tale (above) has alternating diamonds and little cabled "buds".
The Storm one (above) has areas with triple cables and areas with seed stitch in between lacy borders.
So that's where this is at but the shawls are coming along beautifully. Can't wait to photograph a couple with models.
Thanks for reading.
